When Do I Submit My 2024-25 FASFA?
Prospective Domestic Students
Admitted Colgate aid recipients will be required to submit their by May 15, 2024 to finalize federal student aid eligibility. Those only applying for federal aid may submit the FAFSA anytime during the 2024-25 academic year.
Prospective students must identify as an aid applicant on their admission application and submit their before an admission decision is made to be considered for need-based aid from Colgate. Financial aid offers are provided at the same time as admission decisions.Colgate meets full demonstrated financial need for all admitted aid applicants.

Submitting the FAFSA
Before you start:
- Create or reconfirm your StudentAid.gov account (also known as FSA ID Account). Every FAFSA contributor (students and parents) must have their own. If you already have an account, you don’t need to create a new one. New users must set up an account promptly, because it may take up to three days for a StudentAid.gov account to be ready for use.

- Go toand and log-in to start the FAFSA.
- Two-step verification is required either by using an authenticator app or a code sent via text or email.
Completing the FAFSA:
- Every contributor on the FAFSA must provide consent and approval for a student to be eligible for federal aid. Providing consent allows a contributor's federal tax information to be transferred directly into your FAFSA from the IRS via the “Direct Data Exchange”.
- The FAFSA will allow you to save your place in the form to continue later if necessary.
After You Submit the FAFSA:
- After you submit your 2024–25 FAFSA, you’ll receive a confirmation email from the Department of Educationwith preliminary information related to your eligibility for federal student aid.
- 2024-25 FAFSAs will be fully processed beginning in mid-March. After your FAFSA is processed, you’ll receive your FAFSA Submission Summary. The schools you listed on your FAFSA will be notified as well.
